Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of the terms

These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the games, apps and websites published by Redbricks (“we”, “the studio”) — the developer name shown on the Google Play and Apple App Store listings of the apps named in section 2, currently CozyCross and Business World: Poor to Rich. Each of those games and apps is referred to below as a “Game” and collectively as the “Games”. By downloading, installing or using a Game, or by browsing this site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use our services.

2. Apps covered by these terms

These Terms are written for the studio as a whole rather than for a single title. They apply to this website, redbricks.games, and to every game or app published by Redbricks under its own developer accounts on the app stores — including titles released after the date at the top of this page.

As of that date, the apps covered by these Terms are:

• CozyCross — a crossword game — Android package name games.redbricks.cozycross, developer Redbricks;
• Business World: Poor to Rich — Android package name games.redbricks.businessworld, developer Redbricks.

This list is updated as we release new titles. A Redbricks game that is not yet listed here is nonetheless covered by these Terms from the day it is published, unless its store listing links to different terms.

A particular Game may come with additional or specific terms — for example an end-user licence agreement presented on first launch, or rules for a competitive or seasonal feature. Those terms are presented in the Game or on its store listing and, for that Game, they prevail over these Terms to the extent they differ. Everything they do not cover remains governed by these Terms.

3. Games released with a third-party publisher

Some Redbricks games may be released with a third-party publisher — that is, distributed on the app stores under the publisher's developer account, under a publishing agreement with us. Where that is the case:

• Your contract for that Game is with the publisher, and the publisher's own terms of use or end-user licence agreement govern it. They are presented in the Game or linked from its store listing. If those terms and these ones conflict, the publisher's terms prevail for that Game.
• The publisher is responsible for distribution, in-app purchases, customer support and any refund for that Game, under its own terms and those of the app store.
• These Terms continue to apply to this website and to the Redbricks brand, content and materials presented on it.
• The publishing agreement between Redbricks and the publisher is a matter between them; it grants you no right and creates no obligation towards you beyond what the applicable terms state.

Each Game's store listing names the entity that publishes it and links to the terms that apply. If you are unsure which ones cover a Game you are playing, write to us at redbricks.gamestudio@gmail.com.

4. Licence

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Games on devices you own or control, strictly for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. Eligibility

Our Games are intended for a general, all-ages audience, unless the store listing of a given Game states a minimum age. If you are a minor, you represent that you use the Game with the consent of your parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer a Game, except where expressly permitted by law;
• Circumvent, disable or interfere with a Game's security measures, advertising or features;
• Use cheat software, bots, automation or exploits;
• Distribute, sell, rent or sublicense a Game;
• Use a Game for unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes third-party rights.

7. Advertising and free-to-play

Our Games are generally offered free of charge and funded by advertising. By using such a Game, you accept the display of ads, including optional rewarded ads (for example to obtain a hint). How to manage your advertising preferences is described in our privacy policy. Where a Game is paid, ad-free, or offers an ad-free option, its store listing says so.

8. Virtual items and purchases

A Game may offer virtual items (for example coins, hints or ad-free options), free or paid. These items have no real monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred or refunded, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. They are licensed to you for use inside the Game concerned, and are not transferable between Games. Any purchase is processed by the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), whose terms and refund policies apply.

For digital-content purchases made in the European Union, you acknowledge that performance begins immediately and, to that extent, you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal once the content has been supplied.

9. Platforms and app stores

Our Games are distributed through third-party app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play), whose terms you must also comply with. You acknowledge that these Terms are entered into between you and Redbricks only — or, for a Game released with a third-party publisher, between you and that publisher — and not with Apple or Google. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Maintenance, support and any claim relating to a Game are the responsibility of Redbricks or of the Game's publisher, not of the platform, within the limits set by the platform's rules.

10. Intellectual property

The Games, the Redbricks mark, the marks of our individual titles (including CozyCross and Business World: Poor to Rich), logos, graphics, text, sounds, code and all other content are the exclusive property of Redbricks or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership right in these elements to you.

Where a Game is released with a third-party publisher, some elements of that Game — in particular the publisher's own brand, tools and materials — belong to the publisher or its licensors. The allocation of rights between Redbricks and the publisher is governed by their agreement and grants you no right in either party's intellectual property.

11. Content and updates

We may, at any time and without notice, modify, update, add or remove features, levels or content of a Game, or discontinue a Game in whole or in part. Some features may require an internet connection.

12. No warranty

The Games are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that a Game will be error-free, permanently available, or compatible with all devices.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Redbricks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, a Game. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where the law prohibits it (in particular in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence).

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to a Game in the event of a breach of these Terms. You may stop using a Game and uninstall it at any time, which ends the licence granted for it.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their validity, interpretation or performance falls within the jurisdiction of the French courts, without prejudice to the mandatory protection rules you benefit from as a consumer in your country of residence. For a Game released with a third-party publisher, the governing law and jurisdiction stated in that publisher's terms apply to that Game.

16. Changes to the terms

We may amend these Terms to reflect legal or functional changes, and each time we release a game that requires it. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. By continuing to use a Game after the changes take effect, you accept the new Terms.
